The Indians are going to the LCS!

It's a pretty good team that they're sending, too.

Their second baseman is Ronnie Belliard.

Their third baseman is Casey Blake.

Their first baseman/DH is Jim Thome.

Their left fielder is Manny Ramirez.

Their center fielder is Ben Francisco.

One starting pitcher is CC Sabathia.

And another starting pitcher is Cliff Lee.

That's some team, isn't it?

OK, I know what you're thinking. Thome doesn't play the field anymore. And you need three outfielders, a catcher and a shortstop to field a team. And two starting pitchers isn't going to cut it, even in the postseason.

But if the Red Sox had made the LCS, Victor Martinez could have been the catcher. And if the Twins had made the LCS, Carl Pavano could have been the third starter. And if the Rockies had made the LCS, the reliever could have been Rafael Betancourt. You've got ex-Indians all over the place! Can't the remaining four teams get some sort of waiver from Major League Baseball and add some more Indians? Shin-Soo Choo and Asdrubal Cabrera aren't doing anything right now. Get them on a team.

I think we need to make this happen.

Go Tribe! Win the Series for Cleveland! Even if you're not wearing an Indians uniform anymore!

(Note: Since the Dodgers have the most ex-Tribers, I think they deserve to win the World Series the most).

I was just commenting to a friend about this a couple nights ago when Victor Martinez was at the plate & I thought about Sabbathia and Lee. The Indians are like a new version of the KC A's when the A's were almost like a Yankees minor league team. The Indians are now like... a minor league team for the playoff contenders--Cleveland develops the talent and sends them off to whatever contender needs a player for that position....in exchange for a young player who needs to be developed until they're ready for a playoff contender. heh. Yeah, that's MLB's current financial system at it's best.
If that's the way that works, can someone send the Rangers GM the number of the Indians GM?
